March Newsletter

Brrrrr! It is COLD out there! At this time of year, we are all bundled up, bracing against the cold (well, at least those of us lucky to live above 34 degrees latitude!) Personally, I have dealt with a lot of neck and shoulder issues, and the winter is especially hard because I tend to tighten my shoulders in an effort to stay warmer. When I was in college, I saw a chiropractor for my neck issues and told him that I hunch my shoulders up when it’s cold. He asked “does that help keep you warm?” It struck me that it doesn’t! I’ve tried to remain conscious of that habit ever since.

What habits do you find yourself in that you can change right now?

Latest class and workshop schedule from Day Somatics:

Freeing the Neck and Shoulders with Somatics

This workshop is near & dear to my heart, and always a popular one. These simple and gentle somatic movements really help to release and reverse habitually tight neck muscles. You’ll leave with a series of movement explorations that can help you relieve neck pain for good.

I plan to offer a 4-6 week regular online Myth of Aging series as a conference style class. These classes will be recorded and available as an audio download each week as well. I’m still debating on times that can serve the most people. I will keep you all updated, and hopefully have something on the calendar by next newsletter.

Private Sessions in Asheville, NC

If you are in the Asheville area, contact me for private sessions at my office at 25 Reed St in Biltmore Village. Private sessions are a great way to identify specific habituated muscle patterns that may be holding you back from living the life you want to live.

I look forward to seeing you soon!
